When Louise called me to renovate her house, she was about to retire. She had this cottage for a long time and wanted to make it comfortable for her to spend the rest of her active life by the lake. We extended the house to accommodate a garage and a large kitchen as she loves cooking. The island is 12 ft and perfect to entertain while preparing diner. We dared to put a rich patterned tile on the floors of  the mud room and entrance and  balanced it out with a soft beige and blue palette.
